There are three commercial centers in the town and there are many public parks or publicly accessible areas such as Rock Meadow, Audubon Habitat and various town fields.

Schools: Belmont’s school system has four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school.  It is known for its high level of accomplishment with a high average MCAS CPI of 91.7.  Belmont High is noted for its college placement, strong athletics and academics. There are several private schools like  Belmont Hill School a non-sectarian high school, grades 7-12 and Belmont Day School, a private, non-sectarian PK-8 school. There are also several smaller private schools.

Transportation: Belmont's public transportation system includes buses to nearby communities as well as  Cambridge and Boston.  It is also served with two stations by a commuter train on the Concord/Fitchburg line connecting it to Boston via the Porter Square station in Cambridge.
